Top 20 Rankings in Education

This from the Guv:

“In a state that pays close attention to basketball rankings this time of year, it’s thrilling to see Kentucky in the Top 20 of another set of national lists. The Prichard Committee’s new report, showing our state among the nation’s leaders in 4th and 8th grade reading, is cause for real celebration. Not only are we seeing significant and consistent improvements in reading skills, but we’re also on track to break into the nation’s Top 20 in 4th grade math, AP college credit, and pursuit of higher education within the next decade.

We know we still have many areas that need improvement on the long journey of increasing education for every Kentucky student, and I am committed to continuing that effort. The Transforming Education in Kentucky (TEK) task force, which I formed a year ago, will provide valuable guidance to shape the future of education in our state. However, it’s great to know that our hard work thus far is paying off.”

Read the Prichard Committee’s report. Consider it an executive order.
