Replacing Maggie Spellings with Winnie Cooper

Margaret Spellings - the dasher of Karl Rove's feeble hopes - is a Mom and policy wonk who previously served as Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy. Now she's counting down the months until the end of the term as Ed Secretary.

With the race for president well under way it's apparently not too soon to begin speculating on who the next Secretary of Education might be.

"Who needs another policy wonk or former governor?," asks Mike Antonucci over at The Intelligencer. How about someone who can combine fashion with fractions? And provides homework help on her web site?

His candidate for Secretary of Education, Danica McKellar, played Winnie Cooper on the Wonder Years; now all grown up.
