As I mentioned, Stu made a long-term commitment to Fayette County at the time of his arrival. Fayette County had...some leadership issues. He doesn't want to contribute to any return to instability.
Today Silberman told KSN&C, "I am going to stick to the commitment I made to the community...I do feel we are on the right track here but we still have a very long way to go."
So don't look for an application from Silberman.

“I haven’t changed my position on that,” said Silberman, who has promised to be superintendent until 2014. “You make a commitment and you don’t ‘try’; you stick to your word.”
...On Saturday, during a special meeting, the board decided to immediately search for an interim commissioner and a permanent commissioner, and they stressed that they wanted a Kentucky educator for the job. They would not reveal the names of any candidates they had in mind.
“We know who leading educational leaders would be,” board chairman Keith Travis said. “We are discussing this internally. ... We are decidedly interested in people that understand Kentucky and have an experience with the reform in Kentucky.”
