Kentucky Test Score Data Release Dates Announced

FRANKFORT, Ky.) - Test score data related to both the federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act and Kentucky’s Commonwealth Accountability Testing System (CATS) will be released in September.

On Wednesday, September 12, at 8 a.m. EDT, NCLB data will be publicly available on the Kentucky Department of Education’s Web site at http://www.education.ky.gov/. The data will not be made available prior to that release and will not be embargoed.

Data related to CATS will be embargoed until Wednesday, September 26, at 12:01 a.m. EDT. This data will be made available to media outlets a few days prior to the lifting of the embargo.

Each year, students in Kentucky’s public schools participate in assessments of a variety of subjects. The scores from those tests, along with other variables, are used to determine schools’ performance levels. Data from the reading and mathematics testing also are used to determine schools’ standings under NCLB.
