Brothers tells KSBA Public Vetting "Essential"

But How Many?

This from KSBA:
When the state board meets [July 2, Chairman Joe] Brothers expects it will proceed to plan its second-round interviews sometime around July 8. However, the state board chairman cautions that the search firm may still bring in more candidates for consideration.

“They are still taking applications,” he said. “That makes it a bit hard because they could come up with another strong candidate when we meet July 2, and we might have to do phone interviews then.”

Brothers added that the board has not decided how it will proceed with any public announcement of finalists.

“The board has always felt strongly that, at some point, we would be vetting one or more candidates (publicly). We discussed that extensively, but we’ve not sorted out exactly how we will do that. But we do believe that is essential to the process working,” he said.
