CCHS registration marred by glitches
Christian County High School’s last day of registration Friday left many parents, students and even organizers of the orientation frustrated over the long process that stranded many in the high schools cafeteria for up to two hours.
“We came at noon thinking it would be an easy process, but we are still waiting to see our guidance counselor and now it’s two o’clock,” said sophomore Jasmine Lewis.
Organizers of the registration event blame a new state wide program called Infinite Campus.
“It was a state wide initiative that was supposed to make this process easier, and maybe someday it will. But for now there are a lot of little bugs still in the program, which is slowing us down,” said YSC Coordinator Diane Pyle.“We were really hoping this would be much smoother than last year when we didn’t have an orientation. It is to a degree, but we just weren’t expecting all of these problems with Infinite Campus,” continued Pyle.
Assistant Principal, Kent Parrent, also had similar thoughts on the program. “A lot of the schedules didn’t print correctly because of the program and now the guidance counselors are having to sit down one-one with the students and go back and see what is available,” said Parrent...
