KY governors scholars pick McCain in mock election

Over the years I've seen hundreds of student election polls. The one thing I've learned is that the younger the child the more directly they reflect their parent's views. Trust the kids to tell you about their parents.

This from PolWatcher Ryan Alessi:

Republican presidential candidate John McCain edged Democrat Barack Obama among the 845 Kentucky Governors Scholars who participated in a mock election in
conjunction with Secretary of State Trey Grayson's office.

Here's the results, as released by the Secretary of State's office:

McCain: 49.4%
Obama: 46.9%
Ralph Nader (independent): 1.5%
Bob Barr (Libertarian): 1.3%
Chuck Baldwin (Constitution): .8%
Cynthia McKinney (Green): .1%

This Kentucky Governor's Scholar Program for incoming high school seniors operates on the campuses of Bellarmine University, Centre College and Morehead State University and includes 1,075 students.

If my notion is correct, this data shows McCain's lead in Kentucky slipping - with a lot of time left for things to change in either direction.
