Ky Bd of Ed to Hold Special Session

The Kentucky Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Thursday, May 7 at 8 a.m. ET in Louisville to move forward with the process of hiring a new commissioner of education.             Last month, Commissioner Terry Holliday announced that he is retiring at the end of August. Holliday has served as commissioner of education since 2009.             Director of the National Center for Innovation in Education and former Kentucky Commissioner of Education Gene Wilhoit will facilitate a discussion with the board about the characteristics it is seeking in the next commissioner of education.
