Jason Stinson likely will not be head football coach next year at Pleasure Ridge Park High School, Superintendent Sheldon Berman says.
“I know that we are in the process of hiring a new head coach at PRP, and that person will be in charge of hiring assistant coaches,” Berman said in a phone interview this morning with The Courier-Journal.
Stinson was re-assigned to non-instructional status after a Jefferson County grand jury indicted him Jan. 21 on a charge of reckless homicide in the death of sophomore lineman Max Gilpin.
The re-assignment also removed Stinson from all coaching duties pending the outcome of the case, said Lauren Roberts, the district's spokeswoman.
Unfortunately, Berman also indicated that discredited PRP Principal David Johnson, who is also being sued by the parents of Max Gilpin, would be making the selection of the new coach.
