Campus activism on upswing

COLLEGE STUDENTS GETTING INVOLVED IN POLITICS

Chelsea Clinton spoke to students at the University of Kentucky Student Center to boost her mother's campaign for president.

Unprecedented numbers of young people are voting in primaries across the country in this presidential election year.

In Kentucky, college students are making phone calls, wearing campaign T-shirts, talking up their guy or gal. And Chelsea Clinton's visit to the University of Kentucky campus on Tuesday ratcheted up the enthusiasm of activist students another notch.

But when it's time to head to the polls on May 20 for the state's primary, those same students won't necessarily be near their politically active pals, or even the places where they're registered to vote...
