Jim Waters of the Bluegrass Institute responded in opposition saying,
"Louisville’s school bureaucrats dedicated an enormous amount of time toward satisfying a small minority while ignoring the enormous number of voice messages and e-mails they received opposing this policy."
Was he suggeting that one's right not to be harassed ought to be conferred by some local majority?
He says he' s not “anti-public education." He's just against the "monopolistic, one-size-fits-all system that gives [parents] little choice, creates lots of strife and serves up large helpings of mediocrity with side orders of failure."
Well. You be the judge. I thought it was a bit over the top.
I also thought BGI was libertarian. I was told that once and their website asserts, "The right of individuals to choose for themselves how to live and work in Kentucky. Liberty makes all the difference in the world."
Maybe I'm wrong, but if they really believe what they say, I think they oughta leave folks alone so they can enjoy their rights as Americans. All of 'em.
At any rate, Page One, a relatively new political blog fired off a retort and says they want to chat with Waters about it.
I went looking for the link for "School board’s pillow talk punishes parents and students," at the Bluegrass Beacon, Waters commentary sheet at BGI, and couldn't find it. Strange.
Both pieces appear at Page One.

Addendum: Friday
BGI has now posted the story.
And it doesn't sound like Page One and Waters will sit down after all.

The "pillow talk" bit ran in several papers, including http://www.thetimestribune.com/editorials/local_story_334112102.html
Participating newspapers get first crack at the Bluegrass Beacon. It then is posted a week later at http://www.bipps.org/ARTICLE.ASP?ID=851
Waters' column also ran in LEO/Louisville Eccentric Observer.
By the way-- we pulled Waters' weekly column after his appearance on local church programming promoting Frank Simon and being affiliated with Frank Simon's attempt to quash public education.
Chris: Thanks for the clarification. I didn't know how that worked. Unfortunately, I was hoping the "missing post" meant that BGI was upset with Waters, had pulled the item, and was going to issue some kind of "modification" of his remarks. If BGI really stands for selective liberty - or worse - then I can understand why some want to brand and marginalize BGI.
Jake: I haven't had time to look into Page One's claims regarding BGI and Frank Simon. I first heard of Simon this week. But if reported accurately, it sounds bad.
