Relief for some N Ky school field trip budgets

The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center announced Friday that for the remainder of the school year, select local schools can take students on field trips to the center for free. The center will even absorb up to $250 of bus transportation costs for such trips.

The Kentucky Post story says that free visits are being made available to select schools within the Interstate-275 beltway in which at least 30 percent of students receive free- or reduced-lunch through a federal program.
