Op Ed Cites Legislative Open Meetings double-standard

The Ashland Daily-Independent opines, "It is significant to note during the nationwide observance of “Sunshine Week,” that one of the most glaring weaknesses in Kentucky’s otherwise strong open meetings and open records laws is now being revealed in Frankfort.

That’s because members of the Kentucky General Assembly have refused to hold themselves to the same high standards of open government that they hold city commissions and councils, county fiscal courts, school boards and virtually every other public body in the state."
