Benson Beefs Up Faculty Representation on Strategic Planning Group

This from EKU President Michael Benson (via email):

Dear EKU Colleagues:

As I announced before Spring Break, our 2011-2015 Strategic Plan has nearly reached the end of its parameters. Therefore, I have formed and tasked an EKU Strategic Planning Steering Committee to begin the process of creating a visionary five-year strategic plan to help guide Eastern’s course to 2020, with particular focus on academic and institutional excellence, student success, and service to our community and region.

As announced on March 7, the Committee was very much a work in progress. To ensure academic representation as a key component of the Committee, I have asked Dean John Wade and Professor Matthew Winslow to join the Steering Committee. I have every confidence they will strengthen the academic representation within this group, again stressing that this group is designed to be inclusive, equitable, and diverse.

I also ask that you pay close attention to the upcoming focus groups for faculty and staff.  The schedule is as follows:

I hope that you can make every effort to participate in one of these focus groups as  your ideas and guidance are very important to the future of Eastern Kentucky University.

We will be announcing details for upcoming focus groups for students, the community, the region, alumni, and administration as they draw near.  Please be looking for these updates.

Yours sincerely. . .and Go Colonels!

Mike Benson
President
