A Persistent Quandary

Rural School Improvement Efforts at Berea College

I'm pleased to announce that I'll be speaking to faculty, students, and staff at Berea College on April 2nd. The invitation was extended by Berea's "Partners for Education." The reason for the invitation is an upcoming article "A Persistent Quandary: Berea College and the Rural School Improvement Project, 1953-1957" which is slated to appear in the next Register of the Kentucky Historical Society. My co-authors are a couple of former EKU graduate researchers Lindsey DeVries and Amanda Hoover.

I will be discussing Berea's efforts to improve rural education in Appalachia over the decades...and anything else the group wants to talk about. I'd invite y'all, but its not my party.
