•Jay Matthews says Gov. Romney and President Obama have more in common on education than you think.
•Andy Rotherham of the still-fabulous Eduwonk blog says Romney is using school choice to draw a bright line between himself and President Obama. He's also betting that Romney's higher education proposals could land him in hot political water, since the Obama administration could make the case. Bonus: Eduwonk also points to two other critiques of Romney's proposals, from James Ryan, a law professor, and radio host Matt Miller.
•Mike Petrilli, of Fordham and Flypaper Fame, examines the pluses and pitfalls of Romney's approach, which he says (jestingly? seriously?) is federal overreach on school choice. And Petrilli's boss, Checker Finn, thinks Romney's Title I proposals are worth considering.
•Ed Sector's Quick and the Ed blog corrects Checker's grammar—and offers some policy ideas, of course.
•John Wilson, the former executive director of the National Education Association, whom Edweek has recently "Unleashed" has this great take on Romney's policies from a teacher's perspective.
•Rick Hess of Rick Hess Straight-Up fame, says the plan is a good start, while his AEI colleague, Andrew Kelly, is on same page, and has some thoughts about the higher education pieces of the proposal.
