A New Look?

KSN&C readers will notice a new look to the blog.

This was not exactly a planned thing, but derived from a problem with the old design. Since I had to go into the blogger system and monkey with the layout anyway, I soon found myself playing around with a new look. This could change a bit more in time as I try to reemploy a few gadgets that were lost in the transition. In the meantime, let me know if this is a step in the right direction.

Wow. That's great. I love being able to skim multiple headlines and choose where to zoom in--or find the thing I remember from a few days back.

Thanks for the feedback, Susan.

Dear Richard,

Out with the old? In with the new? The fonts are quite small. The format is annoying. Of course, I'll get used to it (Hey, I still don't feel that as a member of FCPS that my opinion counts and you allow me to write what I want ---- always reassuring me that Mr. Silberman and Mr. Shelton have the best interests of kids at heart)his way. Why the change? Thank Jesus in Heaven I can still publish my views anonymously.

It's often amazing that people in education break what is not broken. For example, at my middle school Principal Kate M. won't allow us to call an ORQ and Open Response any longer. Now we have to call it an ER, an Extended Response.

Also, please print the H-L article about the parent who wants the Special Needs Bus for her child and Dr. Tom's insensitive comments about the mother.

I like the new format, especially that the articles open into a larger box. Thanks for all the work you put into your blog.

Thanks for the comments y'all.

Feb 12, 2012 07:37 AM: I think the font sizes are the same but I shifted to Georgia, the font I use for work. I'm sure that contributes to (or perhaps diminishes) the look. It's not as strong a look, but it gets more in view.

I'm glad you continue to comment.

One thing I might point out - I'm largely disinterested in Fayette County. Not uninterested, but it's been 8 years since I worked in the district I don't feel the passion of one who still does. My kids are out of school and my grandkids are not yet in. But I'm also not mad at anyone, and I wish the district well. I hope that puts me in a good position to look objectively at the district and its personnel.

While I have been supportive of Silberman, to some extent, I also don't know of anyone who has so publicly challenged him. I'm OK with that. It's just business.

I like Tom personally and suspect the will do well in FCPS.

Kate and I worked very well together at Cassidy, she as PTA President at the time, and I hold her in high regard from those days. I'm sure she is following the4 state/district lead on administration of school programs. Did you all get the memo to quit calling SB 1 SB1?
