Auditors say JCPS should reorganize jumbled central office

This from the Courier-Journal:
A team of 27 auditors examining Jefferson County Public Schools say the district’s central office must be radically restructured because it is so poorly organized that some employees have no apparent supervisor.
Auditors with Phi Delta Kappa International — who have been hired by the school board to conduct a comprehensive review of how the district operates — say the central office has a multitude of problems, from inadequate job descriptions for employees to supervisors who oversee too many people.



“It’s a typical bureaucracy of a large organization that has not self-monitored or self-corrected over a long period of time — this is something that could go back as far as a couple of decades,” said John Murdoch, an educator and auditor with Phi Delta Kappa International who is leading the audit in Jefferson County...
