"Outsiders" Stress Anxious Jeff Co Planner

Hi! I'm from Frankfort and I'm here to help you.

That's the old joke. Tweak it any way you want. I'm from Washington... I'm from the anti-tax league...

Jefferson County is in the middle of a scholastic audit, which, if you are the subject of the audit, is like ... dentistry. You may need it. But...

If you've been at the bottom of the heap a while - the auditors will find stuff.

Experts, breeze into town to find things your doing wrong. Wait. I said that wrong. They assist local schools in the development of improvement plans. There. That's better.

But I had to laugh when I saw this quote:

"Any time you bring in outsiders to see what you are doing, it kind of raises your anxiety."
- Jefferson County Planning Specialist Dena Dossett

This from C-J:
Audits are triggered anytime a school falls into the state's lowest academic performance category for four consecutive years....

Dossett said district officials really don't know what to expect from the audit and said the process has been a little stressful....
