Fayette County Public Schools does not have any buses involved in a recall by a major manufacturer, but it will take precautions anyway, district officials said Tuesday.
Thomas Built Buses, based in High Point, N.C., is recalling about 1,800 of its school buses that were built from Sept. 1 through Dec. 31, 2010. The recall was prompted by concerns that a bolt in a clamp assembly on the buses' engines could break when under stress.
Fayette Schools spokeswoman Lisa Deffendall said Tuesday that the district owns some Thomas Built school buses, but none of them are among those named in the recall. As a precaution, Deffendall said the school district will bring all of its Thomas Built buses into the shop to evaluate the clamp bolts.

Maybe Mr. Kiser should be evaluated for safety. Just as a precaution, of course.
