Kindergarten backers purchase radio time

The issue is - how to generate broad support for adequate resources to meet high standards for all students? This is a good approach.
The Billings Gazette (Montana) reports:

A coalition of labor and education groups is taking its campaign for all-day kindergarten to the state's airwaves.

A radio ad touting the benefits of the voluntary statewide program began airing Monday and will continue "until we get full-day kindergarten funded," said Sanna Porte of the Stand Up For Education Coalition. "If we have to (run the ad) until the end of the session, then that's what we'll do," she said Wednesday.

The 60-second ad, airing statewide, features Helena parent Christy Hughes and comes as House Republicans stripped all-day kindergarten from the governor's school funding bill earlier this week.
