It all began just before 8 a.m. ...when Isamar Gonzales, a 17-year-old senior, walked into East Side Community High School in Manhattan a little early, but was stopped by school safety officers, who asked her to leave and return later. She refused.
The confrontation escalated, according to the police and school officials, and within minutes Ms. Gonzales was under arrest, accused of punching an officer in the face. The school principal, Mark Federman, tried to intervene, and was also arrested on charges of obstructing government activity and resisting arrest. When other students arrived at the school in the East Village, they saw their principal and a fellow student being led away in handcuffs....

Student Will Spend Time In Jail For Hitting A Teacher
A student at the Prestonsburg Job Corps will spend time in jail for hitting a teacher.
Job Corps Center officials say two students were fighting when a teacher tried to break it up, only to get hit herself.
The county attorney says the teacher pressed charges against Summer Smith.
Smith pleaded guilty to fourth degree assault and was sentenced to 180 days in jail and a 250 dollar fine.

Student suspended for essay can return to school
A high school senior arrested for writing a violent essay for an English class can return to school and will be allowed to graduate with his class, his attorney says.
Allen Lee wrote the essay April 23 at Cary-Grove High and was arrested the next day on two misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct.
The teacher reportedly had told students: "Be creative; there will be no judgment and no censorship."
The decision to readmit Lee, an honors student with a 4.2 grade-point average, followed negotiations with school district officials, said attorney Dane Loizzo.
"We all reached the same conclusion, which is that he's not a threat and never was a threat and he should be treated as such," said Loizzo.
Loizzo contended the charges were a product of paranoia, born of the previous week's massacre of 32 students at Virginia Tech.
Lee's essay read, in part: "Blood, sex and booze. Drugs, drugs, drugs are fun. Stab, stab, stab, stab, stab, s...t...a...b... puke. So I had this dream last night where I went into a building, pulled out two P90s and started shooting everyone, then had sex with the dead bodies. Well, not really, but it would be funny if I did."
