Kids threatened over support
for their nude teacher
THEY have been threatened with suspension and warned not to sign any petitions but the students of Narraweena Primary School are standing firm in their goal - to get their favourite teacher back.
Waving home-made signs and shouting "Give back our teacher", the pint-sized activists joined their parents yesterday in a protest urging the school to reinstate popular year one teacher Lynne Tziolas.
Ms Tziolas, 24, was suspended by the NSW Department of Education after nude photos of her and her 45-year-old husband Antonios were published in a Cleo magazine sealed section titled "Buck naked couples talk about their sex lives".
In the article accompanying the pictures, the couple, who have been married for four years, discussed their sex life, including which sexual positions they preferred and what "toys" they liked to use in the bedroom.
The department has launched an investigation and Ms Tziolas' future as a teacher now hangs in the balance...
...Mother-of-two Deborah Galloway said the school had handled the issue poorly.
"The children have been threatened with a 'yellow card', meaning a week's suspension, if they start any more petitions," she said.
"It's wrong to deny them a chance to have their say - they just want their teacher back."
Ms Galloway's 11-year-old daughter Josephine said: "Hannah Montana (actress Miley Cyrus) posed nude and she still has her job on TV so why can't Ms Tziolas keep hers?" ...
