She ran off to Bradley when she realized that EKU could not be run as a corporation. She was a disaster.

The new golden boy will be here for about two years and will leave us with another dysfunctional corporate-minded mess.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5776587.post-51232997902277645742013-05-23T10:50:35.040-04:002013-05-23T10:50:35.040-04:00"I believe that the anxiety exists becasue ba..."I believe that the anxiety exists becasue basically the same leaders that got us to this point where a "new vision" is deemed necessary are the same people who are making these decisions about cuts"

That's the truth if I ever read it! Administration and athletics will remain untouched, with deans and senior administrators actually getting a pay raise! Just wait and see...

If faculty salaries are actually adjusted with equity in mind, all may well be forgiven. But a status quo boosting across-the-board pay raise will only embolden the aggrieved and the (understandably) bitter. You have a small group of folks who have clamored for a bigger piece of pie these last few years who now are deciding who will get an even smaller slice. I don't see how those biased interests can ever come to a consensus about what is best for the greater good of the organization beyond making cuts to those who have the smallest or non existant voice at the table. I still stay they should have just cut everyone by 10% and been done with it. Allow individual departments to determine how to deal with it as best they could instead of this sham of strategic reallocation. Folks who end up taking the big hits while others go unharmed are going to have a much stronger memory of this and certainly will be less forgiving.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5776587.post-55944626611051328322013-05-22T20:35:23.871-04:002013-05-22T20:35:23.871-04:00Seems like nobody can give you any real numbers ab...Seems like nobody can give you any real numbers about what is being cut where and how much. This unit reorgainzation jazz doesn't tell you anything. Folks need to see who is taking these strategic hits and who isn't.

I suspect once we cover the red which this year's budget is running and figure in all the supposed cuts, we will have hardly saved half the 23 million in terms of real money.

Folks need to start looking more closely at the revenue side and do so beyond the same old raise tuition game plan. I am betting the university could rake in a tiddy pay off by just branding the new art's center with someone's log. Instead they are going to charge me to park next to the building I work in? This isn't UK's sprallling campus. What next fees for water fountain use and bathroom stall access? Sounds like the power of maroon has become the power for petty cash green. Can anyone tell me why Western isn't having this degree of a problem with its finance?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
