Apparently, her teacher is a rather vocal Republican. That, in itself, is not a problem for me. (just so happens that I am D, while my spouse is R) What I find troublesome is the fact that her teacher allowed inappropriate commentary from students during the speech, then determined it wasn't 'worth' watching. Her teacher even made comments about the President's 'sad' use of analogies. Very disappointing...even to my spouse.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5776587.post-35799909334397764022009-09-09T21:57:36.760-04:002009-09-09T21:57:36.760-04:00I believe any encouragement for our nation's c...I believe any encouragement for our nation's children to pursue and attain a meaningful education is a good thing - whether this be from parents, teachers, principals or even the President.

People may disagree on Obama's political agenda, but I feel the heart of his speech is universal and the message is an important truth in today's society. Our children need to understand that a college degree isn't just a piece of paper - it's a lifetime achievement that someday they can have and be proud of.TNnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5776587.post-25475417505213874872009-09-09T20:22:41.746-04:002009-09-09T20:22:41.746-04:00I'm pretty sure they have developed effective ...I'm pretty sure they have developed effective medications for that severity of paranoia.JTnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5776587.post-9610130443757913322009-09-09T10:43:31.290-04:002009-09-09T10:43:31.290-04:00Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals" ...Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals" which Obama uses told his followers to use the language of your enemies to get their defenses down. That speech about taking personal responsibility is 180 degrees opposite what Obama's agenda is. His policies want government to get bigger and to take care of people in all ways. He wants to become the nanny of those students he spoke to yesterday. Saul Alinsky would be pleased with the speech.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5776587.post-25802297393037821042009-09-09T08:24:15.871-04:002009-09-09T08:24:15.871-04:00Anyone who believes that speech is the same one he...Anyone who believes that speech is the same one he would have delivered had there not been an outcry needs to lay off the cool aid Richard and the HL has been serving ;-)

Good on you Robertson and Conway...you and lots of other concerned citizens changed the speech and the follow-up "learning activities".Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
