P...It is all about ownership (who is responsible). Politicians want the education profession to take ownership in the scores. Legistlators want schools to take ownership in the test scores. Schools want teachers take ownership in the scores and teachers want students (and their parents to take ownership). <br /><br />Next we will throw some lawyers into the mix in the next few years and as students fail to reach their self determined career goals, we will see them sueing schools for failing to educate them to reach their individual post graduation life goals. <br /><br />No body is willing take any ownership in what education is suppose to be so we have folks who aren't educators imposing expectations for the educational post mortem consequences which will soon be flooding the judicial system and bankrupting public education.<br /><br />I know that seems very extreme but do you really think that students who either aren't capable or else unwilling to be academically successful will have any reservations about going after folks who they perceive as not doing their jobs to ensure every childs dream comes true?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
