Our children do not get educated by the Feds. That actually happens right here in River City and the folks in DC have relatively little to do with it. <br /><br />Our public schools are failing the community for three primary reasons:<br />1) we can't get rid of bad teachers;<br />2) we can't get rid of bad (disruptive) students;<br />3) chances are the child isn't attending a local school so the parents and local community aren't involved.<br /><br />A perfect recipe for failure. Your blog spends massive amounts of verbiage attempting to intellectualize that which is essentially very simple. The teacher/student relationship has been around for many centuries and there is really nothing new under the sun. There is no "new" way to get students to study and learn. All the policy tweaking in the world won't change a damn thing until the items above are seriously addressed.
